Cosentino: Tollgard Studio in C-Top Design

We are delighted to be featured in C-Top Design, Cosentino’s series on the design studios it works with. The piece tells the story of the studio and our search for each client’s röda tråden, or red thread, across more than 350 projects.

It describes a studio with strongly held values but no fixed house style, one that tells each client’s story in the language of design. Over two decades, that practice has grown around the search for each project’s red thread: the unique intersection of environment, architecture and identity.

The feature also looks at our Knightsbridge Pied-à-terre, a stone’s throw from Hyde Park. The brief was to turn a dusky, dated apartment into a warm, sophisticated pied-à-terre, with budget and programme as important as form and function.

With the original flooring staying put, we brought the connected spaces back to a calm, neutral starting point, with textured wallcovering on the walls and sliding doors.

In the kitchen, a new lacquered Shaker-style design in a warm neutral sits beneath a Dekton Marmorio worktop and splashback by Cosentino. Its softly textured waves recall travertine, but are impervious to the ravages of time, tabasco or turmeric.
